Friday 4/15 Update

Erin seems to be doing well at Touro. Her speech therapist is optimistic and upbeat about Erin's abilities so far. The staff there all are taking great care of her.
The fishing tournament that the guys are putting on for Erin is going to be real nice. A few people have asked how that's going to work and I really don't know, because I'm not much of a fisherman. What I do know is that there will be plenty to eat and drink and there will be live music and some great raffle prizes. Email for raffle tickets or any other information. A huge thanks to all the guys and gals that are getting this put together. Additionally I think there may be another benefit announced in the near future, I'll keep you posted.

  1. Love hearing all the positive updates. Keep it up Erin, we are all praying for you.

  2. Good news on Erin's progress. Sounds like getting her over Touro where they can start working her is a great step.

We have a boat and a team. I'm looking forward to showing off my lack of fishing skills!

    We love you both,

  3. Hi, Dustyn. My name is Martin Avegno. I'm the tech director at St. George's.

I wanted to let you know that I went through a very similar experience to Erin back in 2003 and I turned out pretty ok. I was in a coma for a week with a traumatic brain injury after a 30-foot fall. I was at Charity instead of Oschner for the trauma unit bit, but I was probably in the same rehab unit at Touro that she's in now. The fact that I'm even able to write this comment is a testament to their abilities.

Good luck. She's in good hands. Don't give up hope. If I could come back anyone can.

If you think talking to me would help you in any way feel free to contact me at

  4. Erin you are in my thoughts and prayers daily!!!Keep fighting girl..we're cheering you on!!
